Update on My Baby Girl

Wow. Time *really* flies when you have a new kid! I cannot believe I haven't updated since July. Well, I suppose that since no one reads this blog and it's mostly for me, I shouldn't feel guilty about it. But I do. Mostly because I cannot believe how much BG has changed in the last 6 months. It's incredible... and I feel like I've lost a lot of things I wanted to capture in writing.

For starters, she's full on walking, hell--running, all over the place. BG took her first solo steps the day before her first birthday. It wasn't long before she was shuffling around the house like E.T. And now, she's walking everywhere. She's picked up a lot of speed, too. It makes it really hard to keep up when you are watching her. Turn your back for a second, she's moved to a new room and is getting into something.

We've had a lot more teeth. Molars. We're up to 12 now, and two more on the way. She's eating all kinds of foods with those new chompers, too. There's really nothing she doesn't like.

She's also talking so much more... it's fantastic. She has quite a little vocabulary going! She also knows the names of our two dogs (not much the cats). And she enjoys feeding them from the table.

She's started to act out a little, too. "No," is a big part of the vocabulary now.

Well, that's all for now. I wanted to just get started posting again. I'm going to try making a bigger effort to post; I'm going schedule 30 minutes each day to write here, in hopes that I won't let the daily grind keep me from writing here. As the last six months have shown me, it's *very* easy to lose track of time... and BG changes so much, each and every day, that if I don't start making the effort, I'll lose all those memories and moments that I started this blog to capture.
